Thematic approach
The ENCISS programme focuses on key themes to help focus the work of our grantees and other stakeholders, and to help ensure that we all work towards achieving shared goals.
The four themes are:

Gender equality
Addressing the discrimination faced by women and promoting the personal power and confidence of women to participate in decision-making. Read more. -
Justice and security
Promoting a stable environment where good governance and accountability can flourish. Read more. -
Young people
Engaging young people in decisions that affect them and equipping them with skills and access to services. Read more. -
2012 elections
Promoting electoral rights and responsibilities in the run-up to the 2012 national elections, as well as post-election community dialogue. Read more.
Calls for proposals aim to encourage potential grantees to seek ways to address these issues when responding to the relevant thematic areas. ENCISS welcomes innovative approaches to addressing the different issues under the various key themes.
