Dialogue forum on gender

ENCISS is facilitating a dialogue forum on gender at the Atlantic Hall, National Stadium Hostel, Freetown, on 30 June 2011. The theme of the session is ‘Achieving 30% quota in all spheres of governance – opportunities and challenges’.

Representatives at the event will include Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), Peace and Reconciliation Movement and Women in the Media.

The gender forum aims to encourage collaboration and networking on this important theme, as well as provide opportunities for information sharing. Gender equity is one of the four focus themes of the ENCISS programme.

Background information

A core part of ENCISS’ role is to provide the space for improved understanding and cooperation between civil society and government at all levels. ENCISS is arranging a series of forums at national, district and local level, as well as regular meetings with various key stakeholders.
