Government strategies

ENCISS aims to strengthen the relationship between society and state, and to improve the dialogue on the policies and initiatives of the Sierra Leone government.

The ENCISS programme works together with civil society in Sierra Leone to identify and provide support to genuine representative civil society organisations (CSO). We seek to help build relationships between national/umbrella and local CSOs, and between the state and civil society.

ENCISS works towards increasing the capacity of representative civil society to participate in, influence, contribute to and monitor the Poverty Reduction Strategy; local government policy, planning and implementation; decentralisation and other government programmes and initiatives.

Our focus is also on strengthening the capacity of the government of Sierra Leone to engage in constructive dialogue with civil society on policies, programmes and initiatives, and to improve the interface between state and non-state actors.
